1stXV defeat Combined Catholic Colleges - 19/7/11

The NSW Country Schools 1stXV won a nail biter  27-26 over CCC on Sunday 19 July.  It was the first win over CCC in a number of years. With only minutes left on the clock flyhalf Joe Andrews (Hunter Grammar) put a kick through, stripped the ball from the opposition player and scored the match winner.

Country Schools Stalwart Appointed to NSW Team

Tuesday 5 April 2011

Long time servant of Country Schools Rugby Union of NSW, John Guy, has been appointed Manager to the NSW Schools 1st XV Rugby Union side for 2011. The side will compete at the Australian Schools Rugby Union Championships in Brisbane in July. Guy is currently the Manager of the Country Schools 1st XV and is the Coaching Director for the Country Schools Rugby Union. He has held various positions with Country Schools representative sides dating back to 1995 and has been Manager of NSW Schools U’16 and then NSW II sides for the last 6 years. He was recently appointed as an elected committee member to the NSW Schools Rugby Union. Guy, of Hunter Valley Grammar School, has made a significant contribution to schoolboy rugby in Regional NSW over many years and is a worthy appointment to this prestigious post.
