Cockatoos Regroup for Round Two

The second round of the “Battle of the Borders” series between the GrainCorp NSW Country Cockatoos and the GrainCorp Qld Country Heelers will be played in Cowra this weekend.
The GrainCorp NSW Country Cockatoos are one up in the series following their 24 – 20 first round win, but Coach Col Jeffs hasn’t let the team rest on their laurels and has made several changes for the crunch match.
In announcing the changes Jeffs said “the Heelers were hurting after last week’s lose, and they have reacted by bringing in several new players to beef up their pack”. He went on to say “with a run together and several training sessions at their camp on the Gold Coast this week they will be a different proposition this weekend”.
Hooker Steve Lamont, No 8 Mike Te Moana, Outside Centre Anthony Barrett and Fullback Ben Harriss have all been included in the starting line up. While there have been several other positional changes with Gavin Holder moving from No 8 to Lock, Ben Greentree moving from Fullback to Five Eight and Lewie Catt moving from Outside Centre to the Wing.
The match will be played at the Cowra Rugby Grounds kicking off at 3.30pm, with the Cowra v Orange Emus domestic competition round of matches being played as curtain raisers.
