Jarryd Logan takes out Referee of the Year
Jarryd Logan takes out Referee of the YearNSW Country Rugby were delighted to hear that Jarryd Logan took out the Referee of the Year award at the recent NSW RUGBY awards night held at Centennial Parklands in Sydney.
Jarryd is from the Newcastle/ Hunter region and has been involved at a local level in Refereeing for over a decade. Jarryd has been recognised as one of the premier Referees in NSW Country for the last 5 years.
His consistent high performance and genuine care for the games growth in the Refereeing ranks has had him acknowledged as this year’s Referee of the Year award winner.
Jarryd has a very holistic involvement in the Newcastle/ Hunter and Country Referees association. Jarryd is involved in mentoring Junior Referees in the zone, holds weekly referee development sessions and even gets involved in designing the Country Rugby Referees association kit.
Jarryd is a hard working member of the Newcastle High Performance squad which trains separately each week under the ARU designed program.
NSW Country Rugby Referees president Des George said “Jarryd refereed his 3rd Caldwell Cup final (NSW Country Rugby Championships) in 2017 and has controlled 4 Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union Grand Finals prior to this year”.
“Jarryd has given his all to both NSW Country and Newcastle over many seasons on his way to become an outstanding referee.”
