NSW Country Women’s Rugby Union player Katrina Barker has been selected in the Wallaroos Squad which will undertake a tour to New Zealand to participate in a Four Nations Tournament in June.

The Corellas scrumhalf earnt her selection on the back of solid performances during the NSW Country representative season which included participation at the BuildCorp Women’s National Championships.

Katrina Barker who has two Wallaroos Caps moved to the Hunter from Sydney at the end of last season, was a member of the Hunter Team which won the Country Championships, and played in each of the Corellas’ representative matches during the year.

She debuted for the Wallaroos last year in a tough two test series against New Zealand, and will be part of a new generation Wallaroos Team which includes ten new players and seven debutants from 2016.

The Four Nations Tournament during June in New Zealand will see the Wallaroos pitted against Canada, England and New Zealand, in what will be a large scale hit out for the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland during August.

NSW Country also have additional involvement in the Wallaroos Team, with Paul Verrell (Campbelltown RC) and Amanda Ferguson (Orange Emus RC) holding the positions of Coach and Team Manager for the Four Nations Tournament and Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Four Nations Tournament:

• 9 June v England – Wellington
• 13 June v New Zealand – Christchurch
• 17 June v Canada – Rotorua

Women’s Rugby World Cup

• 9 – 26 August – Ireland (Belfast & Ireland)
